Privacy Policy

Pestanova is a mobile application published by Stride Business Solutions — الخطوة السريعة لأنظمة المعلومات, a sole establishment registered in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan under Commercial Registration No. 557416, with its place of business in Amman, Jordan (“Stride”, “we”, “us”).

This policy applies to the Pestanova Android application, package name com.pestanova.pestanova, distributed through Google Play.

Pestanova is a business-to-business field application for pest-control technicians. It is not a consumer product and it has no public sign-up.

Every user of Pestanova is an employee or contractor of a pest-control company that operates its own installation of Stride’s Bio-Pest system on the Odoo platform (“the Operating Company”). Accounts are created, managed and withdrawn by the Operating Company’s own administrator inside that company’s own system. Pestanova has no account-registration screen.

This matters for who is responsible for your data:

• The Operating Company is the data controller. It decides what data is recorded, why, and for how long. All operational data you enter in Pestanova is transmitted to, and stored on, the Operating Company’s own server, at the server address you or your employer enters when you first sign in.
• Stride is the software publisher. Stride does not operate a Pestanova account service, does not host a Pestanova database, and does not receive, store or have routine access to the data you record in the app.
• Where Stride separately provides hosting, support or maintenance to an Operating Company under a services agreement, Stride acts as a data processor for that company under that agreement and its data-processing addendum, and only on that company’s documented instructions.

If you are a technician and you want to know what is held about you, corrected, or deleted, the first place to ask is your employer. Section 8 explains what we will do if you come to us instead.

3.1 Data you provide, which is sent to your Operating Company’s server

We do not collect: your location, contacts, calendar, messages, call or SMS data, microphone or audio, health data, financial or payment data, advertising identifiers, or any device identifier. The app contains no advertising, analytics, crash-reporting, tracking or marketing software of any kind.

3.2 Data about other people that appears in the app

To let you do the visit, the app downloads from your Operating Company’s system, and stores on your device for offline use, information about that company’s own customers and sites: customer name, site address, telephone number, zone and trap layout. It also holds, until sent, any signature or photograph captured on site.

This is your employer’s data about its customers. Stride does not receive it. It is held on your device only so the app works in basements, cold rooms and locations with no signal, which is the normal working environment of the job.

3.3 Device permissions and what they are used for

The app does not request location permission of any kind, and does not read your device’s position. Where a customer address is shown as a map link, the app simply hands that address to whatever map application you choose to open; Pestanova does not learn where you are.

Stride does not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone.

The only place data goes when it leaves your device is the server operated by your own Operating Company, which you sign in to. That is not a third party from your point of view; it is your employer’s system.

The app embeds no third-party software development kits that transmit data: no advertising network, no analytics provider, no crash reporter, no social network.

Stride applies the following measures to Pestanova. These are statements of what is actually implemented, not aspirations.

• All communication between the app and your Operating Company’s system uses HTTPS/TLS. Unencrypted (http://) connections are blocked by the application’s build configuration, not merely discouraged, and standard certificate validation is applied on every request.
• Your password is never written to the device. Only a session token is kept, in Android Keystore-backed encrypted storage.
• Offline work records are held in the application’s private storage area, which the Android operating system isolates from other applications.
• Signing out removes your credentials, session and the offline record cache from the device.
• The application’s data is excluded from Android’s automatic cloud backup, so work records and customer details are not copied to any personal cloud account.
• Photographs are stripped of camera metadata, including any GPS coordinates the camera wrote into them, before they leave the handset.
• Stride operates no Pestanova server, so there is no Stride-side store of your work records to be breached.

If a security incident affecting Pestanova arises, Stride will notify the affected Operating Companies without undue delay so that they can discharge their own obligations to their regulators and to the individuals concerned.

Stride retains nothing from Pestanova, because Stride receives nothing from it.

• On your device: records are held until they have been sent to your Operating Company’s system, and the offline cache is cleared when you sign out or uninstall the app.
• On your Operating Company’s system: retention is set by that company. Ask your employer.

Pestanova is a workplace tool for employed pest-control technicians. It is not directed at, and is not intended for use by, anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Depending on where you are, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data about you, including under Jordan’s Personal Data Protection Law No. 24 of 2023 and, for users in Qatar, Law No. 13 of 2016 on the Protection of Personal Data Privacy.

Because your Pestanova account belongs to your employer’s system:

1. 1To delete the app’s data from your phone: sign out, or uninstall Pestanova. Both remove the local copy.
2. 2To close or delete your Pestanova account, or to have work records about you deleted: contact your employer’s system administrator. Only they can do this; Stride cannot.
3. 3If you cannot reach your employer, or you want Stride’s help: write to info@pestanova.com or use https://pestanova.com/data-deletion. We will acknowledge within 5 working days and pass your request to the Operating Company that holds the data, and tell you that we have done so.

We will post any change on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Material changes will also be notified to Operating Companies.
