The app in the field
Does Pestanova work without an internet connection?
Yes, for the whole visit. Before the shift the app downloads the day's jobs, sites, traps and checklists to the phone, and scanning, recording, photographing, logging chemicals and taking the client's signature all work with no signal. Signing in and pulling the day down need a connection, and finished work uploads once there is signal and the app is open.
Does the app track where my technicians are?
No. It requests one Android permission, the camera, and there is no location code in it. Photographs are stripped of their metadata, including any coordinates, before they leave the phone. It records the work on the site, not the worker.
How are traps identified in the field?
By a QR code on each trap. Bio-Pest generates the codes, keeps each one unique across the database and prints them eight to an A4 sheet. Scanning resolves against the trap register already on the phone, so it works with no signal.
Does it handle chemical batch and lot numbers?
Yes. Every treatment records the batch it came from, and where a product is batch-tracked in Odoo the app will not save the line without one. The batch number is printed on the Pesticide Application Register.
What happens to a visit recorded offline if the technician signs out?
Signing out refuses to run while unsent work exists. The app names how many records are waiting and asks a second time before discarding anything.
What happens if a technician's phone is lost or stolen?
Anything already synced is safe on your company's server. On the phone, the password is never stored, only a session token held in Android Keystore-backed encrypted storage, and the app's data is excluded from Android's cloud backup. Work that had not yet uploaded is lost with the phone.
Buying and running it
Do I need Odoo to use Pestanova?
Yes. Pestanova is the field half of Bio-Pest, a pest-management system that runs on Odoo 19 Enterprise, and the two are sold as one product. The app signs in to your company's own Bio-Pest server; without one it has nothing to talk to.
Is Pestanova available on iPhone?
No. Pestanova runs on Android phones and tablets, Android 6.0 and later.
What languages does it support?
The app is in English, Arabic, French, German, Spanish and Turkish, and Arabic runs right to left. Bio-Pest includes an Arabic translation too. This website is also in Italian; the app is not yet.
Can it work with the ERP we already have?
Yes, as the field layer underneath it. Bio-Pest exposes read-only REST endpoints and signed webhooks, so your ERP can keep finance while Bio-Pest keeps the field record. Bio-Pest itself still runs on Odoo 19 Enterprise.
Does it do invoicing or route scheduling?
No. Bio-Pest does not quote, invoice or bill contracts, and nothing in the suite plans routes. Odoo itself can bill a Field Service task if you use it for that.
Records and audits
Does it produce the documents a BRCGS auditor asks for?
Bio-Pest prints eleven documents, including the Pesticide Application Register, the Chemical Register, the Trap Accountability Matrix and the CAPA Status Report. The register footers cite BS EN 16636 and BRCGS §4.14.
Is Bio-Pest certified to EN 16636?
No. Bio-Pest is not certified by any standard body. It produces documentation aligned to what BRCGS and BS EN 16636 ask for, and certification is something your company holds, not something software confers.
Can our clients see their own pest control records?
Yes. Each client gets a portal login to their own sites, with the heat map, a twelve-month trend, open corrective actions and seven compliance PDFs, and buys no Odoo licence to see it.
Can we change the inspection checklist ourselves?
Yes. The questions belong to the trap type and are configured in Odoo, so a new or changed checklist reaches the technicians without an app update.
